Javier Alcántara-Rojas, “Mr. Javier,” is a full-time public music educator in Apple Valley, California, recognized by the California Department of Education (CDE) for building vibrant CTE/AME arts programs, expanding student access to music education, and connecting the classroom to real-world creative pathways, and producing student run productions like the Plug n Play Podcast.

A 2021 Yamaha 40 Under 40 music educator, he has helped lead public school arts programs recognized with the California Exemplary Arts Education Award and NAMM Foundation SupportMusic Merit Award honors. He is also a guitarist, member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, CTE/AME arts advocate, and published scholar whose work reflects a lifelong commitment to artistic excellence, student opportunity, and the transformative power of music.

Full-time music educator serving students through performance-based instruction, music technology (AV recording and producation), guitar, instrumental music (Strings, Brass, Woodwind, Percussion), and student-centered CTE/AME arts opportunities.

Scholarship & Research

Includes publication work connected to the origins of flamenco music and the development of Ecclesiastical Music theory, including the article with Manolo Sanlúcar and Dr. Corey Whitehead. He has also served as a curriculum writer for CTE/AME for the CDE.
